Suffolk One students have got talent

Potential Suffolk One learners took to the stage to particpate in a series of Britain's Got Talent style auditions earlier this week.

The budding auditonees weren't grilled as they might have been by a Simon Cowell panel though, as the event was aimed at giving potential students a flavour of the course they will be doing and gave them the opportunity to demonstrate their skills, passion and commitment to the Arts.

The occasion took place at DanceEast in Ipswich and this is the second time that Suffolk One has linked up with the Ipswich Dance Agency, having previously hosted recruitment evenings at the Waterfront location.

The partnership is set to flourish as DanceEast performers and tutors will regularly have the opportunity to pass on new skills to Performing Arts students in the brand new facilities at Suffolk Ones 16 to 19 learning centre.

Jenny Milsom, Vice Principal of Suffolk One, said, "There was a real buzz over the three days of auditions and the standard displayed by the students was very high"

"If they are showing this amount of talent and dedication before they get to Suffolk One, then it is incredibly exciting to think how good they are going to be in a few years time, having gained new skills by studying with us."

Assis Careiro from DanceEast, said, "We are absolutely delighted to be working with Suffolk One in a partnership that has already shown a great deal of promise and I am sure this will continue to be the case."
